Royal Wedding had a definite influence on everything! Who would have thought that something happening across the pond could have such an impact...just kidding! Fortunately, we incorporated math, in the form of Edpuzzles and research in the form of Princess Eugenie and Beatrice, and innovation...well, you should see the fascinators our class designed. Philip Treacy, watch out, these girls are on their way, and that butterfly hat of yours is passe. You should have seen the tulle, the ribbons, the sequins, the fur, the shiny green birds and many, many bows....I know that you saw the parade on the green, but here are a few more pictures and videos of the process!
...and please watch our own Royal Wedding!
I know that I should be writing about math and history and reading, but maybe the most fun the girls have had was last week. I have been promising them a trip to the Cafe, and it was so much fun. We had a gorgeous day, and along the walk by the green they asked me so innocently if they could buy gummy bears and cupcakes and cookies, and I said "YES" to everything! They were so excited, and even more excited to see the older girls come in after class for a treat.
Our field trip continued to the patio where we read Letters from Rifka in the sun, and then we were spontaneously invited to an outdoor exhibition of bridges that the middle school girls had made. The girls were so impressed, and we had such a good time. I would love to do that day all over again...the year is drawing to a close, and I am sadly realizing how much I am going to miss them...
